The Hazy Library is open to Embry-Riddle faculty, staff, students and the community.

Qualified Borrowers

  • Students: Currently enrolled Embry-Riddle Prescott and Worldwide students.
  • Staff and faculty: Currently employed Embry-Riddle Prescott staff and faculty.
  • Faculty emeriti: With a Golden Eagle Card.
  • Local community members: With Arizona ID showing their address or local public library card and picture ID.

Borrower Responsibilities

  • Borrowers are responsible for returning all borrowed library materials and equipment on or before the due date, in the same condition as when they were checked out.
    • Overdue laptops may be remotely disabled (bricked) by IT.
  • Embry-Riddle students, faculty, staff, and community borrowers are responsible for payment of fines and replacement or repair charges.

Loan Periods

  • Loan periods continue throughout the year, regardless of semester change.
  • Books and DVDs automatically renew three times for 21 days if there are no holds on the materials.
  • Books and DVDs recalled must be returned to the library within three days of recall notice.
  • Overdue charges are not refundable.

Laptops

7 days. Overdue laptops will be remotely disabled (bricked) by IT. Borrowers who return laptops overdue twice in a semester will be blocked for the semester.

Check Out Limits

  • Equipment: 5 item limit.
  • Limit: 50 total items.

When Borrowing Privileges Are Suspended

  • There are 5 overdue items.
  • $10 or over in fines.

Note: As a courtesy, Hazy Library attempts to notify borrowers, via the on-file email address, of near-due and overdue status of borrowed items.

Overdue, Lost, and Damaged Materials

Fines and charges are assessed using the chart below:

  • A non-refundable replacement charge will be applied to the borrower's account.
  • A charge based on the current market price will be applied for the repair or replacement of damaged or lost equipment and laptops.
  • Equipment (8-hour checkout) and Course Reserves are due back 15 minutes before closing.

Payments and Credits

  • Embry-Riddle student accounts are charged and payable at the Cashier’s department.
  • Charges are not refunded for items returned after student accounts have been billed.
